This week we had the absolute pleasure of attending the Build NYC Contractors, Developers and Manufacturers Event. We had the opportunity to make a lot of great industry leaders and make many new contacts. We also had the opportunity to meet the following presenters:
AECOM– The worldwide leader in Architectural, Engineering Design, Technical Services, Consulting, Planning, Systems Operations and Maintenance and Construction Management services.
U.S. ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS (USACE) – Provides strategic planning, engineering and construction services, including electrical and mechanical engineering; infrastructure development, environmental controls and roads, bridges and tunnel development all across the US
GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF STORM RECOVERY – Announces more than $4.4 Billion in recovery funds supporting housing, infrastructure, and community reconstruction. Learn how to do Business with the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery and about Contracting Opportunities, how to access GOSR’s Requests for Proposals (RFPs), about M/WBE’s Opportunities, Local Workforce Opportunities, Supplemental Contract Opportunities and Environmental Compliance.
NYC DEPARTMENT OF DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION – They design, renovate and build the structures that New York City needs to serve the public. They build libraries, museums, police precincts, senior centers, and beyond. Their portfolio of smaller-scale work promotes safety for all, from the installation of wheelchair-accessible pedestrian ramps, to the upgrade of fire hydrants throughout the City. They also make improvements to the City’s complex infrastructure system, ensuring that New Yorkers will always have access to clean drinking water.
L&M DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS – An innovator in developing quality affordable, mixed-income and market rate housing, while improving the neighborhoods in which it works. They will present many private projects that will be open to small contractors.
NYC SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION AUTHORITY – They presented many upcoming school construction plans and how to participate on their projects.
We really enjoyed the opportunity to meet all the great presenters and attendees to this amazing event. We want to give a special thanks to Kernan Engineering and OJCC. Kernan Engineering is a multi-disciplined consulting and engineering firm specializing in mechanical, electrical and civil design for building systems and municipalities. KE was created in 1976 originally as an extension of a construction firm. This gives us a unique understanding to fulfill the vision of contractors and owners – an understanding unmatched in the marketplace today. http://kernanengineering.com/
The Oriska Jobs & Careers Center is truly unique among the continuing education and apprenticeship programs. We help all workers and employers while placing special emphasis on assisting minorities and women. OJCC is expanding from traditional trades to include new trades of the future. No other program like this exists. http://ojcc.org/
We certainly look forward to another great event next year!
